UTME 2025 Kicks Off in 887 CBT Centres in Nigeria, as the Kano Government announced the suspension of its monthly sanitation exercise for April to allow for the smooth conduct of the UTME.
The 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) has officially started in 887 Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres across Nigeria.
Over two million candidates are participating in this year’s examination, showcasing the massive scale of this annual event.
In a special arrangement, 501 visually-impaired candidates are also set to write the UTME in 11 dedicated centres nationwide.
This was announced by Professor Emeritus Peter Okebukola, Chairman of the JAMB Equal Opportunity Group (JEOG), during a press conference in Abuja.
Meanwhile, the Kano State Government has suspended its monthly sanitation exercise for April to support the smooth conduct of the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
This decision allows candidates in Kano to attend their exams without disruptions, showing the state’s commitment to education.
At some centres in Kubwa, Federal Capital Territory, supervisors shared that the examination process has been seamless.
At the Rosa Mystica Academy JAMB CBT Accredited Centre, supervisor Salihu Mustapha noted that candidates arrived early, which helped the process run smoothly.
“We started accreditation around 6:30 am, and the examination kicked off by 8 am,” he said.
He also praised the centre for providing a conducive environment, adding that there were no technical issues.
The centre held two sessions on the first day, with plans for three sessions on Friday and four on Saturday.
Mustapha expressed confidence that the remaining days would go just as smoothly, commending JAMB for its excellent planning.
