WAEC Introduces Unique Question Papers for Candidates in Upcoming School Certificate Exams.
The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced a groundbreaking change.
During the upcoming school certificate examinations, no two candidates will sit for the same set of questions in selected subjects.
This innovative move was revealed during a recent briefing for school principals, marking a significant shift in how exams will be conducted in Nigeria.
According to WAEC, subjects like English Language (Papers 1 & 3), Biology 1, Mathematics 1, and Economics 1 will now have customised question papers for each candidate.
This means every student will receive a unique version of the paper, designed specifically for them and matched with a corresponding Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) sheet.
By doing this, WAEC aims to put an end to copying and question leakages, ensuring that each candidate’s results truly reflect their individual effort and knowledge.
WAEC has instructed supervisors to quickly provide an emergency question paper and a plain OMR sheet to handle any unexpected issues, such as a missing customised paper.
This ensures that no candidate is unfairly disadvantaged during the exam.
